Any sacred practice being performed on a regular basis is called a ritual. Seeing the whole picture of the ritual’s benefits will make you want to start practice right now. Implementing your own personal practice is going to gift you with a whole lot of benefits. Benefits that are going to affect you on a three-dimensional level (because we’re all complex multidimensional wonders, OWN IT!). Think about how your Body, Mind, and Soul can form one unit and make you THRIVE - just by gifting yourself with a ritual routine in your daily life. Let’s dive into the 3 dimensions and explore those benefits!
First things first:
Set an agreement with yourself to define a time and place of when you’re going to implement your rituals. Morning rituals are an amazing way to start the day and set the tone (read this article for detailed benefits)
Feeling the Benefits of Rituals in Your Body
Our body is the executor of our thoughts and feelings. It is also the vessel to our mind and soul. Implementing a Ritual Practice is going to make your body feel like support rather than dragging you down. It is going to make you raise your energy that is going to last.
Stress causes a lot of damage to our bodies. Maybe you keep having the same discussions with certain people and don’t come to an agreement. Maybe your thoughts are going wild and you’re jumping from one appointment to another with no time to sit down and feel what your body is telling you. All that you’re feeling is being STRESSED. Stress produces lots of acids in our body which results in all kinds of dysfunctions such as menstrual pain and/or irregular cycles, digestive problems and many more as this article explains.
A lot of us are pumping up our energy levels with sugar and energy drinks. While sugar does indeed give us energy, be aware that it is only going to be a short-term solution. In the long-term, it will add more DAMAGE rather than leaving you with an everlasting HIGH ENERGY LEVEL.
Worshiping your body (yes, worshiping!) is sending signals to the other team members a.k.a. Mind and Soul that YOU GOT THIS! Here’s what you can do:
Sleep: nothing like a good night's sleep, right? There are so many benefits to sleep. While we’re awake and busy with executing tasks and maybe not having the time for a rest in between (even if Naps are proven to increase productivity), our body can’t really do its work. Which is to be a great team member for execution and pursuing whatever our mind and soul are trying to make us go for. While we sleep, we give our body the opportunity to do the hard work, which is getting rid of the acids in our body, giving our organs the space to do their job, sorting our thoughts (did you know that the biggest creations happened while being asleep? ) and so much more. Convinced? Thought so :-)
Move your body: some have their holy practice of workout saying that it balances them out. And that’s true. You don’t have to go to the gym to move, so don’t make that an excuse! A walk in nature works wonders! Another wonder practice is dancing. Put on your favorite tune and shake it off (that exercise is part of my Personal Ritualkit that you can get here). Not only are you moving your body, but you’re associating it with fun. So put your Playlist together and shake that booty. Like someone really smart once said:
“Don’t be too concerned about what your booty shaking looks like. It’s a lot like pizza. Even if you don’t like it, someone is going to think it’s pretty awesome”
Food: mmmh, that’s a big topic and the advantages of a clean and whole food diet are ENDLESS. No matter what your diet is, consuming non-processed food and bringing in diversity in a conscious way will bring you a long way! Want to know some more benefits of clean eating, read here and let me know your thoughts about Nr. 7, Lady ;-)
Massages: they have been a healing tool for generations! Some help you to feel energized, some help you to calm down, some have strong healing effects. Massages support in releasing physical and energetic blocks in your body. So, when’s your next appointment?
There are so many more rituals you can implement for your body like singing/chanting, bathing, yoga and more. Explore what sounds most appealing to you. Feeling the Benefits of Rituals in Your Mind
Our mind, right? If you’ve ever felt like losing your mind, welcome to the club! Sometimes, there is so much to do and so little time to process. That’s the mind’s job: processing the data that we feed it. Imagine a big closet consisting of countless drawers and you need that one specific item NOW. Often times, our monkeys decide to go crazy in our mind and start playing with us which leads to confusion and frustration. Which again leads to stress (see how everything is connected?). Here are some rituals and benefits for your mind:
Meditation: 1 word: Gamechanger. What happens during a consistent and mindful meditation practice is, that you are practicing to OBSERVE your thoughts. It is not about emptying your mind, because guess what: being able to do that, you’ll need to do nothing but meditating the whole day, alone, isolated, in a neutral energetic field. If you find that space, please share it with me, thank you! For all the others living in 21st Century, we practice meditation by observing our thoughts. Life get’s busy and our thoughts are rushing in the speed of light. A consistent practice is going to help you to discern your thoughts when they pop up in daily life to help you get in CONTROL of whether you’ll want to follow that thought or put it aside for another time. Affirming and setting your goals: 1000 things to do and don’t know where to start? Break your tasks down to 5 per week and 1 per day. That might sound ridiculous since there’s always so much to do. Give it a try though, you’ll be surprised at how much you’ll feel in control (and we’re all control freaks, so there’s no judgment here). Our mind likes to know what it is doing, so be specific! The more specific, the better. See “being specific” as the banana that is going to make the monkeys calm down
Write it down: writing down your thoughts is a great way of cleaning up your closet. You’ll get it out of your head and give your mind some space to think new thoughts. It gives you time to better process your thoughts rather than trying to put your head around the same idea over and over again
Do something you enjoy and smile: that is a big one! How often are we being trapped by daily life that often leaves out the fun? Think about yourself when you were a child, what did you ENJOY doing? what made you feel like being in the moment? Maybe drawing, reading a book, playing outside observing caterpillars turn into butterflies? Give yourself some space and dedicate some time to FUN in your life. And smile :-) Your mind can actually be very easily manipulated, believe it or not. Even if we're feeling down, if we put a smile on our face our mind will not know the difference (I know, that’s how complex we can be). Your mind will assume that you’re happy and will send out all those happy hormones to your body. Read more about it here. Not only does it affect your mind but those around you! You’re Welcome :-)
With these rituals, you’ll see an INCREASE OF SELF-DISCIPLINE and more ease in STAYING FOCUSED, who wants more of that?
Feeling the Benefits of Rituals in Your Soul
Often underrated but the most powerful tool that makes us divine beings. Our soul is our ESSENCE and needs to be way more in focus. So many cultures have been practicing soul rituals for centuries - and most can also be applied to today’s life. Like Wayne Dyer, an internationally renowned author and speaker in the field of self-development said:
"You don’t attract what you want, you attract what you are”.
Whenever we are hearing that small whisper in our head asking “Who am I? What’s my purpose? What is my mission in this lifetime?”, that is our soul directing us to our higher self. If you have been asking yourself one or all these questions, it’s time to take ACTION. If you’re also here reading these lines, that’s your soul pointing you towards your purpose. So let’s explore what kind of rituals you can start implementing and what benefits you can get out of them:
Practice gratitude: Please, please, please! This practice is filled with so many BENEFITS, it deserves a whole blog series for itself. Being in a space of gratitude shows that you are grateful for what you have and are ready to receive MORE of it. Do you have food on your table? a roof over your head? money to pay your bills? are able to breathe with no pain? can talk? can walk? have the coziest sweater? have the sweetest and supportive friend? the list is endless, start writing it down in your journal or download an app on your phone such as the Gratitude App (download it here). The more you’ll practice it, the more you’ll start to attract the most beautiful situations, people and things into your life
Spiritual clearing practice: Burning or smudging is being practiced for many various reasons such as for energizing and purifying effects. One of the most common and accessible tools you can get today is White Sage. The most important thing to remember before you start smudging away is to set an intention! Setting an intention is crucial for every practice! Do you wish to get rid of negative energy? Do you wish to boost your energy? Set the intention and start smokin’, Lady (for a more detailed process, read here). There are so many other tools that you can use for your clearing practice like burning Palo Santo or incense and using essential oils. If you have ever smelled a certain fragrance that made you feel something, you’ll know a small effect of how powerful it can be
Find a trustworthy support system: Being on a spiritual journey can seem daunting to others. You might be hearing from your surroundings things like “you’re in a cult, you’re practicing suspicious sacrifices and whatnot”. When all that you might just be looking for is an answer to your soul questions and just wanting to be HAPPY. There is so much value in having a TRUSTWORTHY support system consisting of people who just get it without any agenda. A place where you can ask for advice and get unconditional SUPPORT. Please know, that there are plenty of people who are in the same space than you and some who have been through what you’re going through. Support is out there, start being open to receiving it
Starting to implement a ritual practice can bring you many benefits such as increasing PRODUCTIVITY, being more FOCUSED and present in the moment, attracting BEAUTIFUL people and situations into your life, SELF-DISCIPLINE, clarity on your PURPOSE, connections that SUPPORT you on your way and so many more as you just have read.
There is no better moment than now to start your practice. If you have no clue of how and where to start, click here to get your personal Ritual Toolkit to get a simple guide to get you started now.
I’m sending you the biggest support wave and am looking forward to walking along your journey!
